This painting is me admitting that I’ve lived in the space between growth and sorrow. That I can bloom and break at the same time. That I’ve felt fragile, small, hidden, but still, I remain. Still, I hold myself. Still, I rise again. When I look at this painting, I see myself. I see the way I fold into myself when the weight of life feels too much to carry out loud. I see how I’ve learned to hold myself together, even in silence, even when no one else knows what I’m holding inside. The flowers on the green fabric remind me of how I’ve always tried to bloom for others — to give beauty, comfort, and love, even when I was wilting on the inside. I wore my tenderness like a garden, but behind it, I was curled inwards, just trying to keep from breaking apart. There’s a small smile on the face, and it hurts me because I know that smile so well. It’s the one I give when I don’t want anyone to worry, when I’m falling apart, but I pretend I’m fine. It’s survival, not joy. The blue surrounding me in this piece feels like an ocean, the ocean I’ve drowned in silently, the one made of unspoken thoughts, heartbreaks, and quiet grief. And yet, even in this ocean, I am still here. Still breathing. Still carrying myself, even if it means holding on with everything I have left.

The business case

Why CollectArt fits a serious art business

CollectArt combines an art-specific domain, a familiar .com address and matching social handles. Together, they give an art business a consistent name across its website and public channels.

  1. The subject is in the name.

CollectArt speaks directly to the activity at the centre of the art market: collecting art. The collect.art address reinforces that meaning with an art-specific extension.

  2. Two domains. One destination.

collect.art offers a distinctive primary address. collectart.com adds the familiar .com form of the same name. Holding both lets a business direct either address to one destination.

  3. Recognition across channels.

The @CollectArt handles on Instagram and X carry the same name as the domains. That consistency gives audiences fewer variations to remember when moving between a website and its social channels.

  4. Room for a serious business.

The name can support a gallery, marketplace, advisory practice, publication or collection platform. It identifies the field without fixing the business to one medium, artist or format.

01 / The premise

Some names
already feel like
an invitation.

CollectArt holds two instincts at once: the authority of a destination and the energy of an open door. It can frame a marketplace, a collection, a publication, a studio, or something that does not have a category yet.

The idea is intentionally larger than the format.

02 / The set

One idea.
Everywhere it matters.

A compact, coherent footprint across the open web and the social edge.

This contemporary oil painting brings together the visual richness of traditional carpet motifs with a playful and vibrant expression of love. The word “Love” appears three times across the composition, each in a distinct, fantastical color, creating a striking contrast against the traditional carpet inspired background. The work explores the meeting point between heritage and contemporary expression. The familiar language of the carpet is transformed through unexpected color, repetition, and expressive texture, creating a visual dialogue between the traditional and the modern. Rich layers of oil paint and pronounced surface texture add depth and dimension to the work, inviting the viewer to experience both its decorative beauty and its contemporary character.

This piece reinterprets an ancient myth: a maiden, seeking refuge in the abyss from a love unrequited, attains immortality at the cost of losing her human past forever. The canvas depicts the final moment of severance-her burning home stands as a symbol of no return, while the cold moon serves as a silent witness to her transformation. In this abyss, where the heavens merge with the tide, nothing remains but the hollow echo of loss and the profound melancholy frozen in her eyes.

The Ritual captures an authentic fragment of urban folklore deeply rooted in everyday street life. The painting portrays two close friends from the neighborhood, completely absorbed in the precise act of rolling a joint. Within street culture, this is far more than a casual habit—it is a ritual, a shared daily practice that strengthens bonds and creates an atmosphere understood only by those who have lived within that environment. Technically, the work combines the raw energy of the street with my distinctive approach to dark surrealism. The faces of the two figures emerge from the folds of crumpled paper, gradually revealed from a deep velvet-black background through the careful orchestration of chiaroscuro. They are illuminated by an intense neon-green glow that amplifies the scene’s mysterious and intimate atmosphere. Above one of the figures, a miniature origami bird wearing a crown appears as a symbolic guardian of the neighborhood hierarchy. The Ritual resonates with the slow, heavy atmosphere of the city’s nocturnal corners, elevating an ordinary subcultural practice into a timeless reflection on ritual, belonging, and human connection.

In creating "Orchid Flower," I was inspired by the delicate strength and quiet elegance of orchids. These flowers have always fascinated me with their ability to thrive in unexpected places, embodying resilience and grace. I wanted to capture that essence on canvas, inviting viewers to pause and appreciate the beauty in subtlety. The soft whites and gentle pinks of the petals are layered with care, each brushstroke a meditation on the fragility and strength intertwined within nature. The background's muted earthy tones provide a warm embrace, allowing the orchids to emerge with a serene presence. This composition is a dance between light and shadow, capturing the ephemeral beauty of a moment frozen in time. I hope that when you look at this piece, you feel a sense of calm and reflection. May it remind you of the quiet power found in nature and within ourselves, encouraging a moment of stillness and appreciation for the gentle strength that surrounds us.

This painting was born from a deeply personal memory. During a glamping trip with my family, I experienced a rare and profound moment of peace—surrounded by nature, far from the noise and stress of everyday life. The sound of the wind in the trees, the reflection of greenery in still water, and the warmth of family laughter created a memory I wanted to hold onto forever. I painted this scene not only to capture the calmness of the landscape but to preserve the emotional intimacy of that day. The tent in the foreground represents the fragile yet comforting human presence in nature—a temporary home in the vastness of the world. The sky, though layered with clouds, is open and light, reflecting both the transience and the serenity of the moment. The texture on the canvas, inherited from a previous work underneath, became an unplanned but meaningful part of the final piece. Like memories layered over time, it adds depth and honesty to the painting. “Fleeting Moment” is a tribute to emotional stillness and shared love. It invites the viewer to pause, breathe, and remember their own moments of peace—brief, but powerful.

This series is inspired by the traditional childhood games many Nigerians grew up with, games that are fading today. Tinko Tinko, Ten Ten, Suwe and others weren’t just play; they taught us friendship, confidence, and how to belong. These artworks revisit those memories to show how these simple games shaped our identity and connected us to our community. I want viewers to feel nostalgia, warmth, and the joy of shared childhood moments, and to remember the cultural value hidden in the games we once played.

A carefully rendered face is repeatedly covered, framed and interrupted by white planes, black gestures and architectural lines. Visibility becomes unstable: one eye meets the viewer while the other is almost erased. The work examines how identity is edited by expectation, memory and self-protection. What appears incomplete is not absent; it continues beneath the painted surface, resisting a single, finished reading.

In creating this piece, I wanted to explore the delicate interplay between innocence and complexity. The young girl, with her face painted in vibrant red and blue, embodies a sense of wonder and melancholy. Her eyes tell a story of dreams and burdens, a world where imagination and reality intertwine. The red fish she cradles is a symbol of her inner thoughts, vibrant and alive, yet fragile. The paper boats floating around her represent the journeys she imagines, small vessels of hope navigating the vast seas of her mind. Above her, the branches with tiny fish reveal a crown of creativity, where ideas flourish and take flight. I chose watercolor for its fluidity and unpredictability, mirroring the emotions I wanted to capture. The dark, moody background contrasts with the bright elements, emphasizing the tension between light and shadow in her world. I hope viewers feel a connection to their own childhood dreams and the complexity of growing up. May this piece invite you to reflect on the beauty and challenges of navigating both inner and outer worlds. 45.35 cm without frame Mixed media Water color color pencil acrylic and

In creating this piece, I wanted to capture the joy and vibrancy that summer brings into my life. Living in a place where rain often dominates, the arrival of summer feels like a long-awaited embrace. The strawberries, bursting with color, symbolize the refreshing sweetness that contrasts so sharply with the dreariness of winter. Their vivid reds are a celebration of warmth and renewal. The interplay of light and shadow in the painting mirrors the crisp, clear sunlight that I cherish during these months. I chose to use bold, lively colors to evoke the sensation of sunlight dancing across a table, bringing everything to life. The lemons add a zesty brightness, enhancing the feeling of freshness and the promise of long, sunlit days. I hope that when you view this piece, you feel the same uplifting spirit that summer brings to me. It's a reminder of the simple pleasures that can transform our mood and environment, offering a slice of sunshine even on the cloudiest days.

In this painting, I present a powerful abstract-geometric composition in which order and energy converge. The image consists of tightly defined planes, lines, and volumes layered on top of each other, as if you were looking at a technical structure or a modern cityscape in motion. The color scheme is bold and harmonious: warm yellow and red contrast with cool blue and turquoise, softened by neutral grays and metallic tones. These colors don't seem static, but flow along horizontal and vertical lines, as if energy were being channeled through pipes or rails. Lines and grids provide structure and precision, while round elements—small spheres and circles—make the whole more human and playful. They act as anchors in the composition, moments of calm within the dynamic. Subtle accents of light and shadow create depth and an almost three-dimensional, industrial feel. The painting exudes a sense of modern balance: technique versus emotion, control versus movement. It seems to convey that even in a tightly organized world, there is room for rhythm, warmth, and creativity. A work that feels both rational and poetic, inviting the viewer to discover new connections every time.

Korean Ladies is a quiet celebration of friendship, shared memories and the passage of time. Three women meet again, carrying with them the invisible threads of a shared past: childhood games, laughter, secrets, first loves, small heartaches and moments of forgiveness. Their lives have followed different paths, yet something remains unchanged. In one another, they recognize the faces of their youth and the intimacy of memories that belong to no one else. The painting speaks of friendship as a place that time can never entirely leave behind. . . . Artist's poetic text: . . . They shared the same childhood games, the same friends, the same schools. Partners in mischief, they sometimes plotted without anyone knowing. They still laugh about it. They confided in each other the stirrings of their first loves. They comforted one another through small heartaches and great sorrows. The tears dried long ago. They quarrelled, apologised, forgave. They did not follow the same paths. They drifted towards different tomorrows, before returning. They nurture secrets no one will ever know. When they meet again, they see the face of their youth once more. And they share what no one else can ever reach. Memories. . . .

This work continues my exploration of Oyo and my town "Fiditi" tribal heritage, shifting from spirituality and ancestral memory toward the theme of Disappearing Culture. Fading Marks of Belonging explores the quiet disappearance of cultural identity through the lens of Oyo and Fiditi heritage. In creating this piece, I intentionally softened the Abàjà marks, allowing them to fade gently into the skin a painterly decision reflecting how traditions gradually disappear rather than vanish at once. Hyperrealistic textures, subdued tones, and a calm side profile create a sense of stillness and reflection, while the banana earring symbolizes Fiditi, known as the “Home of Fruits” anchoring the portrait to place and cultural origin. Beyond aesthetics, the work speaks to cultural transition. With modernization, Christianity, Western medicine, and evolving beauty ideals, tribal marking has largely faded from contemporary life. What once signified identity, protection, and belonging now survives mostly in memory and in the faces of older generations. The faint marks become a metaphor for knowledge, rituals, and meanings slowly slipping from everyday consciousness. This portrait invites viewers to reflect on their own experiences of changing the traditions and stories time quietly reshapes or leaves behind. Even when visible symbols fade, the question of belonging remains, reminding us that culture is not only what we inherit, but what we choose to remember and carry forward.
